Breaking Ground: A New Chapter Begins

This week, we’re breaking ground on our home. After nearly a full year of dreaming, praying, planning (and re-planning), it’s finally time to take that first physical step. We’re watching dirt move. Stakes go in. And what’s felt like lines on a paper is suddenly becoming real.

This isn’t just any house—it’s the home we’ve poured our hearts into. A space we hope will serve our family well for years to come. A place where friends will gather, where our teenagers will grow and mature, spending their final years at home under one roof before life begins to shift. A place where laughter lingers, and memories quietly settle into every corner.

I can already picture our kitchen, noisy and full—teenagers elbow-deep in snacks, friends huddled around the island, laughter bouncing off the walls. That’s the dream. A home that holds people well.

We don’t take this blessing lightly. Building from scratch is a gift, and we are deeply grateful the Lord has opened the door for us to do it. It’s not lost on us how rare and sacred this opportunity is—to shape a home from the ground up, both physically and spiritually.

Over the next 12 months, we’ll be watching this house rise. But more than that, we’ll be watching the Lord’s faithfulness unfold—through delays, decisions, dirt, and all. And we’ll be sharing the journey right here.

Because home is more than walls and windows. It's where life happens. And we’re honored to be building ours from the ground up.
